I had a great staying experience at the Highland Inn, especially for a quick getaway. The location was perfect, with easy access to restaurants and shops. The charm of the place has a quirky vibe, but it's definitely dated and could use some upgrades. Overall, I felt the value for money was solid, though the beds weren't the most comfortable.

Rooms

The room was clean and came with a mini fridge, a desk, and a comfy queen bed, perfect size for my wife and me. While the furnishings were a bit old, we did get a good night's sleep without much noise.
Service
6.0
The management seemed friendly overall, but I did catch the night check-in guy acting pretty indifferent. It was late, so I get it, but a warmer welcome would have been nice.

The Highland Inn is in a great spot, near bus stops for MARTA routes, and close to amazing restaurants and a movie theater, making it super easy to explore the Poncey Highlands area.

I loved the BBQ restaurant across the parking lot; it was delicious! Plus, there was a nice coffee shop next door to fuel my mornings.
Facilities

While the facilities are somewhat outdated, the cleanliness and basic amenities like cable TV and hot water were sufficient for my stay.

My stay at Highland Inn was a mixed experience. The cozy charm and unique character drew me in, but I encountered some drawbacks that detracted from my overall impression. The location is excellent, with plenty of restaurants nearby, but the age of the building showed in certain areas and the amenities were quite basic. Overall, it has potential but could use some improvements. 😺🏨

Rooms

The room was clean and spacious, but it felt worn down. I noticed some damaged walls and furniture that needed updating. Additionally, the shower took a long time to get warm. Overall, it wasn't the best in terms of comfort.
Service
6.0
The staff was friendly and helpful during check-in, but there were moments when service seemed lacking, especially in terms of attention. I noticed one staff member more focused on their headphones than guest interactions.
Location

Highland Inn is conveniently located near bus stops for MARTA routes and within walking distance of great restaurants and bars, making it easy to explore the area. This added a lot of value to my stay.
Dining

The breakfast offered was quite minimal, just coffee, bread, and some fruit, which didn’t meet my expectations for variety or heartiness.
Facilities
5.0
The facilities have a charming, antiquated feel, but they also showed their age. The decor was unique, but many areas seemed in need of serious upgrades to enhance the overall experience.

Highland Inn offers a quirky charm that makes for a decent stay, though it's not without its quirks. The location is a major highlight, with plenty of restaurants and amenities nearby. However, being an older building, I encountered some unique challenges like a tricky bathroom and a need for patience with hot water. Overall, it’s a good value for a cozy stay in a vibrant area.

Rooms

My room had a vintage feel with a fridge, but the bathroom setup was a bit odd, similar to stepping onto a cruise ship. The charm of the older style was nice, but some aspects felt worn out.
Service
7.0
The staff were friendly and helpful, especially when they carried my luggage, though the check-in experience was a bit lackluster due to the late hour.

The Poncey Highlands area is amazing! I loved that I could walk to breakfast, dinner, and a theater—all just a stone's throw away.
Dining

I didn’t dine much on-site, but I enjoyed the nearby dining options. Morning coffee and muffins were a nice touch for a quick bite.
Facilities

The free Wi-Fi was weak at times, and the kitchen was unfurnished unless requested. Still, I appreciated the full bath and the retro vibe of the place.

My stay at Highland Inn was quite the experience, with its quirky charm and unique character. I loved the location, which was close to a variety of great restaurants and just a short distance from downtown Atlanta. However, the room left a bit to be desired in terms of comfort and amenities, especially with the air conditioning noise affecting my sleep. Overall, it's a decent spot for those looking for local flair, though I would recommend setting expectations accordingly.

Rooms

The room was small but usable, though the bed was overly soft with limited lighting. It had a vintage feel, which might not be for everyone.
Service

Check-in was easy, and the staff provided good recommendations. However, service could be uneven at times.

The Inn is in a lovely area with excellent dining options and easy access to bus stops for public transport, making it convenient for exploring Atlanta.
Dining

There are plenty of great restaurants nearby, including options for authentic Indian dishes. The food scene is a highlight of the location.
Facilities

The facilities felt dated and more like a hostel than a hotel, lacking some modern comforts.

I had a unique stay at Highland Inn, where the quirky character and friendly atmosphere shone through, even if some amenities were less than modern. The room felt more like a hostel, with vintage decor and a soft mattress, but the great location made up for these shortcomings. Overall, it offers solid value for those wanting to explore the lively Poncey Highlands area.

Rooms
6.0
My room was clean but rather dated, with minimal furnishings and a somewhat worn mattress. It had a small fridge, which I appreciated, but the lighting was limited and made the space feel a bit cramped.
Service
7.0
The service was a mixed bag; while the day staff were friendly, the night check-in guy seemed a little indifferent. However, I appreciated the manager's helpfulness when they sent back my husband's shoes without extra charges.
Location

Highland Inn's location is fantastic! It's walking distance to great bars and restaurants, and I loved the vibrant community feel. Plus, being near bus stops made getting around Atlanta very easy.
Dining
8.0
I didn't eat meals in the inn, but I enjoyed the nearby local spots for breakfast and dinner. The community feel really added to the charm of the experience.
Facilities
6.0
Facilities were basic, reflecting the inn's age; it's not luxury or spa-like, but I found everything worked fine for my needs during the stay.
